About MCB RAdiology

MCB Radiology began when Dr. Marvin McClow accepted a position as Chief of Radiology at St. Vincent’s upon completion of his Radiology Residency at Northwestern University in 1951. Dr. and Mrs. McClow moved their family to Jacksonville. At that time, St. Vincent’s had one x-ray room on the 4th floor. Dr. McClow began building a department. He led the formation of the School of Radiology Technology in 1951, still one of the best in the area. A new department was constructed on the first floor of the center wing. Dr. Clark and Dr. Marvin Berk joined the practice. Dr. Berk was a neuroradiologist and worked with St. Vincent’s to obtain an EMI CT Brain scanner, the area’s first in 1976.

Dr. McClow was a strong proponent of mammography and St. Vincent’s was chosen as one of the 28 centers in the Breast Cancer Detection Demonstration Project from 1973-1978. St. Vincent’s was the only non-academic site chosen.

Dr. McClow was a good leader and spent time as President of the medical staff and President of the Florida Radiological Society.

Known for many years as Drs. McClow, Clark, and Berk, the group is now known as MCB Radiology and continues to provide radiology professional services for Ascension St. Vincent’s and Optimal Imaging in the Jacksonville area.
